Well Behaved Women Rarely Make History

I don’t really have anything to say, I just want to drive the New Year’s Eve post a little further down the page. I could edit it, but I don’t like to do that too much. It defeats the purpose of my whole blogging venture. If I wanted you to read my edited, well-crafted, polished work, I’d publish something. ;)

Anyway, it’s the third of January. Nothing much is happening. The kids are home from school until next Monday, and we’re spending our days doing a whole lot of nothing. A little laundry, watching some TV. Just hanging around and being slugs. I happen to think that is a VERY worthwhile way to spend some time. By the time Monday rolls around, they’ll be thrilled to go back to school. That’s my mission in life. To bore my children to tears so that all they’ll want to do is leave.

Isn’t that nice?

I ate some McDonald’s for dinner. Hours ago. I still feel ill, yet I would like to eat some ice cream or a bowl of Reese’s Puff’s cereal. I think that’s what McDonald’s does to people. It infects you with some kind of junk-food-wanting bacteria, so that after you eat it, all you want is more of it or more of other stuff like it. Candy and potato chips and frozen pizza. Preferably all mixed up together.

Eww.

There is something very strange going on in the house across the street. Actually, it’s not directly across the street, it’s across the street from the side of my house (I live on a corner). It’s very dark over there and a couple of times I’ve seen a bright flash. So, either someone is robbing their house and going through it with a flashlight, which they inadvertently shined right into my window, OR the two very nice older people who live there are running around, in the dark, naked, taking pictures of each other. Or, they’re taking a picture of me sitting in front of my window, on my computer. Why they’d want to do that, I really don’t know. But it’s a possibility.

Anyway, I’ll be back soon when something interesting happens. I’d like to un-bore the kids on Friday and take them on an ADVENTURE, but I can’t think of anything. We’ve had all kinds of weird adventures. Usually we just get in the car, pick a road, and keep driving straight until 1. I admit we’re lost, 2. We discover something fun to do, or 3. We run out of gas on some flat-ass country Illinois road. Once we ended up several hours south of here, in Amish country. That was fun. We discovered Garfield Farm out west of us, where they are trying to restore this old farm, the barns, the houses, etc., and they raise heirloom animals. That was a little more exciting than watching paint dry. Actually, that’s a lie. It was pretty interesting. We’ll see what we come up with on Friday.
I’m going to go stand on my back porch in the dark and see if I can see any evidence of my neighbors being robbed.
